Tessa has directed plays and readings for Naked Angels Theater Company, The Atlantic Theater Company, Women in Film, and The Nantucket Film Festival.

Currently, she is directing Mother.Redux – Christine Suarez’ provocative examination of motherhood.

As a playwright, Tessa has had short pieces and monologues produced in New York, Los Angeles and North Carolina.

Tessa briefly worked with performance studies god Richard Schechner and his company East Coast Artists. She has proudly participated in the wild and wacky 24 Hour Plays as a writer, actress and director. And, once upon a time, she has served as Chairman of the Board of the New York theater company Naked Angels.

Additionally, she has helped produce several original plays: PALM BEACH, a musical inspired by the screwball comedies of the 1930s, which had its world premiere at the La Jolla playhouse under the direction of Des McAnuff; TRUE LOVE, a brazenly theatrical work by the storied playwright Charles L. Mee, directed by Daniel Fish; and THE STAND IN, Keith Curran’s satirical coming-of-gay story, which enjoyed a long run at LA’s Hudson Guild theater, starring Kristen Johnston.
